I have no words to describe how enjoyable time I spend at Hill house Hideaway! thanks Anne and Maurice for the Kindness reception.

The place is in a great location with everything you need to settle in for a few days or more. Anne and Maurice are wonderful hosts and we would love to come back, if not for the sheep alone! Thank you Bob and Dom
A wonderfully comfortable but spacious cottage in idyllic surroundings. Perfect base for a hiking holiday or just to chill out and enjoy the countryside.
Lovely little getaway in a gorgeous location with beautiful views. Felt very homely, was perfect to come back to after a big walk! Would definitely recommend!
Spacious, clean, huge bed! Need a car but easy drive to lots of places- Hadrians wall, Newcastle, Kielder water park, Carlisle. Would definitely come back
Lovely, spacious and homely hideaway perfect for couples who want to get away. Anne and Maurice were quick to respond and excellent communicators. We loved the fresh air and the sheep and getting out of the city. The hideaway was just right for what we wanted, and Anne and Maurice has added lots of personal touches, even baking bread rolls for us. We had a wonderful stay and it only rained on the final day (a veritable miracle!)
You get a lovely feeling of peace sat on the terrace looking at the view. The bed is soooooo comfortable and it has everything you need, lots of thoughtful touches.
Great place to stay! Very peaceful
Great hosts, excellent communication. A lovely cosy, hide away with a perfect rural view from the sunny decking area. It had everything we wanted. The cleaning had been a through Covid clean with a range of soaps and cleaning materials to keep us ‘safe’ I thoroughly recommend their place for Hadrians Wall and surrounding area. TheBowes in Barden Mill and the Beaumont in Hexham have excellent food. It was the perfect stay at the end of Lockdown. Thank you Anne & Maurice
A perfect quiet little escape. Very comfortable and welcoming. Freshly made bread buns were a nice touch too. A good base for walking and sightseeing.
Great place and great location
An excellent place to stay, lots to do round about but feels remote with a lovely view. There were lots of thoughtful touches and the hosts were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Great little place. Quiet and secluded but within easy reach of local sights.
What a location and what a special little hideaway! In terms of location, you couldn't get much more rural and secluded. I searched for a long time to find this gem and I am definitely going to come back. The area is also rich in terms of the variety of landscapes and therefore walking options. One day, you could be in a gorge walking alongside a river, the next hillside following Hadrians wall with nature watching you all around. I love this part of the world and there is no better location to be staying in order to get the best access to it all. As for the cottage... it's snug, cosy, extremely comfortable and has every appliance you could need for a short stay. I loved the wood burner! The bed was super comfy although I would consider the bedroom ceiling a little low if you're over 6ft. I didn't want for anything during my stay as everything was provided. When I saw Anne and Maurice, they were delightful, very attentitive and made me feel everso welcome. I would recommend this ideal retreat location to everyone who's looking for a bit of R&R or peace and quiet - although realising at the same time, it might limit my opportunities to stay again 🙂
